Affiliate disclosure

This site earns money from two affiliate partners: GetYourGuide for tours and activities, and Stay22 for hotel links. In both cases the price you pay is the same as it would be if you went to the booking site directly.

That commission is how the site pays for itself. Nobody pays us to be featured, and no business has been added to a page because it asked.

GetYourGuide: tours and activities

Tour cards, tour links in the text and the activity list on our tours page go to GetYourGuide through its affiliate program. If you book a tour or activity after clicking one of them, we may earn a small commission.

We are not GetYourGuide, and this site is not part of GetYourGuide, endorsed by it, or an official website of it. We do not run any of the tours listed here. Each activity is offered on the GetYourGuide platform and run by its own supplier. Bookings, payment, availability, cancellations and refunds are handled by GetYourGuide and that supplier, under their terms rather than ours. If something goes wrong with a booking, they are who you need.

Stay22: hotel links

Some pages link to hotels on booking sites such as Booking.com. On those pages a script from Stay22 may load and convert the hotel links into affiliate links for its booking partners, which include Booking.com and others. If you then book a room, we may earn a commission. You pay the same rate you would pay going to the booking site yourself.

The booking is between you, the booking site and the hotel. Room rates, availability and cancellation terms are theirs, and we never see your payment details. Which hotels we write about is decided before any link goes in, and commission plays no part in it.

About the prices and ratings shown

Tour prices, ratings and review counts on this site were taken from GetYourGuide on 14 October 2026, and the prices were shown there in US dollars. All of them move. Prices change with season and demand, ratings shift as reviews come in, and activities are sometimes withdrawn entirely.

Treat the figures here as a rough guide. The live number on GetYourGuide at the moment you book is the real one. We do not show room prices, because none of the hotels’ official sites publishes one.

Independent of the places we describe

This site is written and maintained independently. It is not run by, or connected to, the Comune di Bologna, the city’s tourist office, or any of the churches, museums, palaces, restaurants, shops or hotels it describes. Their official sites are linked on each page, and those are the places to go for tickets, bookings and anything official.

Our opinions are our own

We choose which activities to link to on whether they would be useful to somebody visiting Piazza Maggiore. Where we think a tour is not worth it, we say so, and where a sight is better done for free on your own, we say that too. The commission does not change what we write.
