Is there a live webcam of Piazza Maggiore?

Not one we could find. As of October 2026 we could not confirm any public live webcam pointed at Piazza Maggiore, whether from the Comune di Bologna, the tourist board or the large webcam sites.

The closest working camera is SkylineWebcams’ view of the Due Torri from Piazza di Porta Ravegnana, about six minutes’ walk east of the square along Via Rizzoli. It is one of only three cameras the site lists for the Bologna area, and the other two are out in the hills. If you want a live look at the center of the city, that is it.

Plenty of pages promise a Piazza Maggiore webcam. The ones we checked showed somewhere else, showed no images, or showed nothing at all. Webcams come and go, so if a new one turns up, the quick test is whether the picture includes San Petronio’s half-finished facade. If it does not, it is not the square.
